Removing Stains from the pocket lining

I know we all have different opinions about using and purchasing pre-owned Balenciaga bags.  One thing for sure is that we don't know how the previous owner treated it before..  For used Balenciaga bags, I try to buy bags that are in excellent to almost new condition.   Sometimes you may find make up or other stains from the previous user which is kind of gross in my opinion.

So here's another quick and easy DIY on how to clean the lining of your bag if you ever come across a stain or if you just want to clean it in general. ETA: This works only for the Day bag's entire lining, or just the other bags pocket linings.

This is optional but you can also use a lint roller to remove some of the lint and other fibers prior to washing.

ETA: So far this works on the Day, Hobo, Make Up Clutch's interior linings, for the City the lining is sewed into the bag! Argh! The pockets can still be flipped and washed though.

Steps:
  1. Flip the lining which you wish to wash inside out.
  2. Wet the lining of the bag with some warm water.  It make take a bit for the water to completely soak through the fabric.  Try not to wet the leather part of the bag by holding lining at a downward angle.
  3. Use a small amount of soap and scrub the lining with your hands.  I am using antibacterial hand soap.
  4. Thoroughly rinse out the soap with water.
  5. Squeeze out excess water from the lining by either scrunching it or gently wringing it out.
  6. Place on drying rack with the wet lining facing away from the bag and wait a few hours for it to dry completely.
  7. If you are in a rush you can use a hairdryer and on the highest heat setting dry it for about 10-15 minutes.
  8. Optional - Use a warm iron and smooth out the wrinkles.
  9. Flip the lining back into the bag.
After completing these steps, you will have a clean bag interior! :)
